Metropolitan Anthony Bloom of Sourozh said,
“Unless we look at a person and see the beauty there is in this person, we can contribute nothing to him. One does not help a person by discerning what is wrong, what is ugly, what is distorted. Christ looked at everyone he met, at the prostitute, at the thief, and saw the beauty hidden there. Perhaps it was distorted, perhaps damaged, but it was beauty nonetheless, and what he did was to call out this beauty.”
Perhaps some of you have also thought that people in prison were no more than animals whose cell doors should be locked and the key thrown away. No matter how far someone has fallen, the image of God remains in him. Through your gifts, OCPM offers people in prisons and jails across our country the opportunity to discover the Holy Orthodox Faith and a new life in Christ.
There are OCPM leaflets and envelopes for monetary gifts to the ministry in the leaflet rack in the narthex or you may donate online. Please consider giving to this worthy ministry.
