Great Lent:

O Lord and Master of my life, take from me the spirit of sloth, meddling, lust of power and idle talk. But give rather the spirit of chastity, humility, patience, and love to Thy servant. Yea, O Lord and King, grant me to see my own sins and not to judge my brother, for Thou art blessed unto ages of ages. Amen. (The Prayer of St. Ephrem the Syrian)

New Church Photo Directory by Lifetouch

May 11-13, 2017. Contact the Church Office to schedule an appointment for your family.

In order to have a free church photo directory we need parishioners to make appointments with the Church Office for photo sittings. LifeTouch will be in the Fellowship Hall to take photos from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday, May 11, and Friday, May12.They will also be here from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday, May 13. In addition to a free directory, each sitting receives a free 8 x 10 photograph. The Thursday and Friday times were given especially to accommodate work schedules of those who have to work on Saturdays. If that is you, please make an appointment early; don’t wait till the last minute. The last time the church made a photo directory was in 2010, so it is time for a new one!

Words of Wisdom

"You should secretly give from what you have to those in need, so that you receive from God, Who sees in secret, a hundred times more, as well as life eternal in the age to come (cf. Mt. 6:4; Mk. 10:30)." -- St. Gregory Palamas

Fourth Sunday of Great Lent: Commemoration of John Climacus, Author of "The Ladder" (March 26)

The barren wilderness thou didst make fertile with the streams of thy tears; and by thy deep sighing thou hast given fruit through thy struggles a hundred-fold. Accordingly, thou hast become a star for the universe, sparkling with miracles. Therefore, O righteous Father John Climacus, intercede with Christ God to save our souls. (Apolytikion in Tone 8)
